Being a hopeless romantic, when my boyfriend at the time (now husband) went to visit New Zealand for the entire month of November of 2024 I started working on this portrait of us to surprise him. I thoroughly enjoyed the process, and challenged myself with a deadline to have the illustration finished, printed, framed and wrapped by Christmas. He ended up being very touched, and I was happy to see my little venture was successful!

A portrait can be a very personal and meaningful way of expressing one’s love and appreciation to another, don’t you think?
